everything was clear 

even the puddles i stepped on 

after the storm 

they were clear

the same clarity 

in your eyes

i also remember the day you told me

to stop 

stop trying to make me stay you said

stop looking into my eyes hoping that id give in 

youre not gonna stop me from letting you go 

and i remember

the skies that evening

they were dark

and when i cried

it was like the sky cried with me

as i watched the little droplets decorate my skin

as i listened to the pattering of the thunderstorm that was yet to end
